Smooth, indulgent ice cream made with just… wait for it… 2 ingredients! And it is healthy and vegan because there is no milk, eggs or sugar! Frozen bananas and sesame powder=1 amazing cool refreshing dessert.
Make sure to have frozen bananas on hand, but other than that, there is no way to go wrong. You can’t overheat anything, beat it too long, under mix, etc. Just use a food processor and you’re good.
So I had a birthday party this weekend and it was super hot. Like 34 Celsius hot. Which is why I made this ice cream. Partly because of the heat and partly to celebrate the fact that I’m almost 15! (I might have also been influenced by my mom’s obsession with everything sesame, but let’s not delve too far into that). And guess what I got for my birthday? (It’s actually in a few days, but getting presents earlier is never a bad thing!)
A Cuisinart food processor! Yep. So now I can whip up many things that I couldn’t do with the old food processor, like turning almonds into almond flour. That means there might be more innovative recipes coming your way.
God I just realized I only have two weeks left of school! Woohoo! (On a side note, that means I have final exams. Which are not so fun, especially when I know summer is approaching and I am feeling so lazy these days.)
Okay, I know if been switching topics crazy fast in this post, but that’s because I have so many things to write about! So anyways, in summer, my family is finally not going on some mega vacation so I’ll be able to make more food.
Oh, and I’m doing summer school! I wanted to learn Spanish for such a long time and I’ve tried using Duolingo and Memrise, but after a few days, I kind of forget about it, so summer school will put me back on track. What will you be doing this summer?
Sesame Banana Ice Cream
Healthy and smooth ice cream made with only bananas and sesame powder. Get ready to dig in!
Ingredients:
2 medium bananas, sliced and frozen
3 tbsp. sesame powder
Instructions:
- Put the frozen banana slices in the food processor by peeling the slices apart by hand or knife if necessary. Sprinkle the sesame powder on top and blend for 3 to 5 minutes until mixture comes together, smooth as ice cream. (My mixture looked like little balls, so i just mushed them together to make ice cream.)
- Eat right away! If you want a smoother and colder ice cream, refrigerate for an hour and put it at room temperature for at least five minutes to soften before eating so it’s scoopable.
I loved it ! Will be back for more…
