This wasn’t what I originally had planned to make, but I’m so glad I did! In the week, I was thinking about making matcha and sesame mousse, then I realized I didn’t have matcha powder, so I decided to make a simple sesame mousse. Then, of course, I couldn’t find any good recipe to guide me, because it was all chocolate mousse this and chocolate mousse that.
Since the yummy pictures were practically screaming at me to make chocolate mousse, I gave in and made my Creamy Avocado Mousse: Chocolate Version. I changed the recipe slightly (no bananas or grapes) and divided it into 4 cups, but it only filled it about halfway up! Yeah, I didn’t realize that my recipe made only 2 servings. I didn’t want it to be a boring dessert and use another avocado (gotta save that for my breakfast smoothies!), so I decided to make another layer on top of my chocolate mousse, but this time chocolate and sesame together!
I was kind of scared since I like to look at a recipe and then make my changes, but I had no recipe! Thankfully, it came out great, although not so stiff, hence the name pudding instead of mousse. Oh, and it’s healthy. Like most of the recipes on this blog. 🙂
And that is the story of how this Chocolate Sesame Pudding arrived in this world. *bows deeply* If you want to make chocolate mousse but without avocado, check this recipe out (it has coconut milk)!
Chocolate Sesame Pudding
This smooth, deliciously healthy dessert will make you swoon! Biggest thing about it? It’s easy peasy.
Ingredients:
Avocado Chocolate Mousse:
1 ripe avocado
1/4 cocoa powder
1/4 cup honey
1/4 almond milk
Chocolate Sesame Pudding:
40 g dark chocolate (70%)
4 tbsp. (1/4 cup) water
1/3 cup sesame powder
45 g Greek yogurt (homemade!)
2 egg whites, whipped into soft peaks
Instructions:
- Avocado Chocolate Mousse: Blend all the ingredients in a blender and divide into 4 glass cups. It should fill up halfway. Shake the cups gently to smooth the tops. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. While you’re waiting, make the chocolate sesame pudding.
- Chocolate Sesame Pudding: Melt the chocolate in a saucepan over medium heat. In a medium bowl, mix 2 tbsp. water and sesame powder together until it becomes a paste. Mix in the chocolate, then fold in the Greek yogurt and another 2 tbsp. water. Fold in 1/3 of the whipped egg whites until completely mixed, then fold in the rest of the egg whites. Pour over the avocado chocolate mousse layer, making sure to divide the mixture evenly among the 4 cups. Refrigerate for about an hour until firm. Enjoy!
OMG this looks incredible. I hope people appreciate the avocado because I just know it’s going to male the mousse delicious and creamy (:

Thank you! And yes, avocado deserves a chance! When I was smaller I didn’t even know what avocado was, just some weird green fruit, but now I eat one almost every day.
